A DIFFERENT APPROACH

Moving Well to Live and Feel Better

Dealing with chronic pain, old injuries, postural conditions such as scoliosis, and/or hyper-mobility issues?  Worried that if you don't address it now, your problems might be overwhelming 5, 10 or 20 years from now? Well, you're not alone.

Most people spend years adapting to the demands of modern life. Sitting, repetitive movements, injuries, stress, and even old traumas can gradually shape how the body moves and holds itself. Over time, these adaptations create imbalanced movement patterns, excess tension, and compensation postures that become your new normal - and often, a painful one. Functional Movement Training helps you retrain those patterns.

Through personalized movement coaching, you'll learn how to improve posture, create well connected, efficient movement, and develop better body awareness. The goal isn't simply to exercise more, it's to help your body move the way it was designed to move - pain free.

This approach is ideal for individuals who want more than temporary relief and are looking to create lasting changes in how their body moves and functions.

This is for you if you:

Have recurring pain, old, unresolved injuries, scoliosis, or hypermobility issues (ie/ EDS)

Want to improve posture, movement quality, and overall body awarenes

Are able to commit to a multi week program

Are willing to invest in your own education and progress

WHY CHOOSE FUNCTIONAL TRAINING?

Addressing Root Causes in Complex Physical Systems

Basic stretching, some exercises on a sheet of paper and 'just go for more walks', isn't going to cut it.  Your body is a complex 3D system of dynamic tension that is responsible for dealing with gravity and other daily demands.  If you aren't specific about the way you move, at best very little will improve, and at worst, you may make things worse.

Unlike traditional 'treatment plans' and rehab 'protocols', Functional Movement Training works to identify YOUR specific postural imbalances, and patterns of movement dysfunction that contribute to chronic pain.  By improving the specifics of your posture, movement mechanics, and coordination, we help the body balance tension and reduce unnecessary strain.

Rather than chasing symptoms, we look at how the entire body is organized. By improving the specifics of your posture, movement mechanics, and coordination, we help the body balance tension and reduce unnecessary strain.

Healthy, pain free movement involves distributing tension across the body, so there is the right of tension in the right places at the right time.

FUNCTIONAL PATTERNS

Training the way your body was designed to move

Functional Patterns is physics applied to the human body. The focus is on building competency in the most fundamental movement patterns - Standing, walking, running and throwing (The First Four) in order to gain the most practical movement variability.

The goal is not only postural correction and pain reduction, but also increased athleticism, fitness, weight loss and muscle gain.
